University & School AV Integration: Turning Ideas Into Experiences

The Williams Room, in the Spangler Center at Harvard Business School—home to high-profile events for the school —faced serious audio challenges. The existing speaker systems were inadequate to overcome acoustical challenges that made speech difficult to understand, and the space hard to use. Our team delivered a carefully engineered solution featuring Renkus-Heinz IC16-RD-C steerable line array speakers, which accurately direct sound to the audience while reducing echo and reverberation. In addition, integrated ceiling speakers improved coverage in “dead zones” created by the room’s retractable walls, all without disrupting the room’s elegant aesthetic.

Working closely with architects, designers, and electrical contractors, we ensured the entire system was installed with precision and on schedule. Today, the Williams Room sounds as stunning as it looks, earning praise from faculty, guests, and presenters alike.

When the Winsor School needed to refresh its 300-seat theater after 15 years, they turned to us to design a smarter, more dynamic AV system. We installed a brilliant 10,500-lumen Digital Projection 4K UHD laser projector, a 286-inch screen, and high-performance streaming cameras. To simplify control, a legacy control system was replaced with a fully automated Q-SYS system, complete with a custom GUI that mirrored the existing school touchpanel stand for intuitive operation.
