To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Lewis & Clark's westward expedition, and the 100th anniversary of the World's Fair in St. Louis, the city celebrated with a water screen and music spectacular.
BL&S was hired to pull off the complex event involving synchronization of film with live music and fireworks-along with a giant water screen presenting multimedia shows and lasers. All of the elements had to be perfectly in time. To achieve this, BL&S played back a video copy of the film during the show, sending the audio output through a wireless link to the shoreline. The time code from the video drove BL&S's film projectors and also provided synchronization for the lasers and fireworks, delivering audio code into a control computer that fired off specific fireworks at designated times.
Visitors perched along the banks of the Mississippi River or enjoyed a bird's eye view from the newly renovated Monumental Feature at the Arch, reveling in this one-of-a-kind celebration.
