Advantages of inflatable projection screens
- They're easier, faster, and much less expensive to set up than a traditional screen, since there's no scaffolding required.
- The projection quality is comparable to any traditional screen, at a fraction of the cost.
- These lightweight screens won't damage the lawn, and can sustain rain and wind.
- You can choose a solid screen surface or a perforated screen that allows for more realistic sound projection from behind the screen, just like cinema sound.
- In addition to public and private screenings, the inflatable screens offer a handy, portable alternative to a billboard for guerilla marketing. The message of your choice can be placed into the screen's frame.
Set-up
The setup is simple. Just move the screen onto the lawn or other location, secure it to the ground with attached ties, and then inflate it. There's no unsightly scaffolding to deal with, and the entire setup should only take about 30 minutes (depending on size and conditions).
Boston Light & Sound provided an inflatable projection screen for the Lucid Film Productions' Arts Festival at Boston City Hall Plaza.
“The transportation, setup, and breakdown of the screen were incredibly low maintenance and quick,” said Ilya Polyakov, Executive Producer, Lucid Film Productions. “The screen itself folds up to a compact and manageable size, and could be easily lifted by two or more people. It was inflated with a vacuum pump, similar to ones used for blowup mattresses. Once blown up, the screen stood unobtrusively at the back of the stage, and provided the same great quality in visibility as a traditional screen. It's a great value, easy to transport, and easy to get up and running. Thanks to Boston Light & Sound for helping make the event run smoothly and giving us the best screening quality possible!”
